I think it is the idea that global warming has been caused by human activity, such as burning fossil fuels, deforestation, and technologies that increase the release of greenhouse gases.

This is why we had to develop various quotas to decrease pollution and forget V8 cars for the sake of hybrid or electric vehicles. Some folks like Greta Thunberg even condemn jets for this very reason.

I don’t deny science, so I don’t deny global warming and climate change.

However, I doubt very much that the main cause of global warming is carbon dioxide produced by humankind. It could be one of the reasons, but not the reason. Earth’s average surface air temperature has increased by almost 1.5 °C (about 2.5 °F) since the global Industrial Revolution started around 1880. I think it is definitely a factor in the climate change.

However, our beloved planet Earth has been going through global warming and cooling cycles for millions of years. Climatologists documented several ice ages for the last couple of million years. In fact, the Last Ice Age ended around 10,000 years or so, and we currently live in the interglacial period. Anyone cares to explain what kind of human activities did start the global warming of that time?

Scholars argue what could have caused those long warming/cooling cycles, assuming that this could be a blend of cosmic and local events, from stardust clouds the Solar System is crossing through, to solar radiation changes, to increased volcanism, to changes in ocean circulation, etc.

Moreover, we have come through the Little Ice Age (around 1300 to around 1850) and the Medieval Warm Period that lasted from about 950 to about 1250.

Industry hasn’t caused these events, right? So here’s a question: what caused the Medieval Warm Period, and what stopped the Little Ice Age? Or did we have an alternative industrial civilization here on Earth that had vanished without a trace?

I suspect that the global warming narrative has been imprinted in the minds of millions of people because global companies wanted to relocate their production lines to places like China, India, or Mexico to decrease costs. Well, they had to develop a nice, science-based theory for that. It wasn’t hard because human activity is part of the problem. Then, they inflated this reason (out of many) to be the only one. Then, they developed those carbon dioxide quotas. The funniest thing is that you can trade these quotas!

Whoops! Here’s the deal: we now have trash made in China and corporations that make a fortune by decreasing production costs. They have established programs and grants to motivate the scientific community. This is how the blame-it-on-us context has been designed for the sake of the Mighty Dollar.

Oh, I’m sorry! Is this another great conspiracy theory?

The worlds biggest conspiracy theory

The conspiracy I’m going to pick is an easy one for me. It doesn’t involve moon landings, JFK or anything like that. There are dozens of videos on YouTube saying that China is about half as big as you think it is. The economy, the population, all of it, sans geography.

Wikipedia says China is about 1.4 billion people and it’s slightly smaller than India. First, you need to know that this number is the official Chinese Communists Party (CCP) number and much of what they say is straight-up crap. That’s not politics, it’s just the record they have.

Let’s look at the supporting evidence for a much smaller population:

  • One Child Policy: from 1950 to 2015, every couple was only allowed one child. You need 2.1 children per woman to have a stable population. That means the country hasn’t been replacing by half, let alone growing its population for 65 years. So how is it that they swear they have been growing until recently?
  • Covid: Now we will get a little deeper into conspiracy territory. Officially, the CCP says that several dozen people died. The World Health Organization; using a report from the National School of Development at Peking University found 64% of the population was infected by mid-January. Fine. Get your calculator out and run the numbers. 1.4 billion x .64 x .02 (one in fifty died in the US, so we will use that as the death rate). Ready? 18 million people could have died and that was just at the beginning.
  • Bird Flu: China has stopped releasing numbers on deaths, cremations, burials, and funeral homes. Odd? Why do you suppose that is? However, a visit to any hospital will show they are flooded with a new type of flu virus.

Now let’s look at the numbers for a smaller economy:

Empty Street in China
Empty Street in Wuhan
  • The reporting system: China’s central government sits out a target for every city and town to hit for growth every year. For years and years China was growing by crazy huge numbers, six, eight, ten percent. These growth numbers are the envy of the world. Except it was probably all made-up.

Think about it, you’re the Governor of some district. Nice house, arm candy wife, limo & driver, you’ve worked hard and you’ve got it made. But every year those jackasses at Central HQ send you these crazy high targets for growth. Let’s say one year you come up 3% short. Think you’ll tell them? Mmm, maybe we’ll just tell them what they want to hear. The next year you have a new target PLUS that 3% from last year, damn. So now you’re down by 3 + 4%. By the end of fifteen years that number could be thirty or forty percent.

Here’s your choice: go home, enjoy lobster, make love to a hot woman while the limo waits in the drive of your big house, or you can go pound rocks until one day they blow your brains out and send the bill for the bullet to your widow. Hey, I made my numbers, how about you?
  • Street Lights: Yeah, I just said that. Turns out there is a direct correlation between how much light a country puts out at night and their GDP. It makes sense, I just never would have thought of it. Turns out China is short in the lights department big time (as seen from space).
  • Population: If you accept my arguments above about population, then the impact on the economy should be obvious. It’s a safe bet that China’s biggest developers would go under and Real Estate would crash. The streets would be empty (video link) and the stores all closed.

So, my biggest conspiracy theory is that China is far, far from the big, powerful nation the CCP wants you to think it is. It is nowhere near the US, EU or India economically. On a personal note, I believe this conspiracy theory has more than a grain of truth.

The world’s biggest conspiracy theory

Roger Bara

Most of these biggies are fairly recent – JFK’s assassination, moon-hoaxers, flat earthers, Princess Diana’s demise, all of these started in the past 60 years or so. So, I’m plumping for what I believe is the longest running conspiracy theory of all time.

Depending on what you read or study, religion of some sort has been around for between 45,000 and 200,000 years. It probably started with humans not being able to find explanations for things they simply did not understand. Unbelievably, with all the scientific advances of the last few hundred years, it still goes on today. “I don’t understand how this could have happened; therefore, God must have done it.”

The idea that a fairy in the sky is responsible for everything around us is not only juvenile, but utterly pathetic. This oh-so-successful conspiracy has caused multiple wars, total discontent and hatred, and is responsible for most of the carnage that pollutes our world at this time.

And which god of the 4,000 or so to which we on earth devote our lives, well, at least those of us that are “in” on this conspiracy, is the true god? Take my own nutcases, those who, like me, were indoctrinated (child abuse by the way), to “believe” that the Christian God is the real deal – well, the oldest version of the Bible is the Sinai Bible, which lives in the British Museum. There are over 14,000 differences between this book and the standard King James version. Word of God??? Fuck off! Word of Man. Period.

95% of religious people are believers in this conspiracy by virtue of where they were born. Most of them, if you believe in the bible, will burn in hell for eternity. How can anyone in this day and age believe this awful crap? If we are so special, why did your God make trillions of other galaxies, in an ever-expanding universe that has been in existence for at least 13 billion years, and counting? Insane.

As conspiracy theories go, this will never, ever, get beaten.
