Let’s pretend that you are Elon Musk for a minute and let’s pick out some random agency that we want to go into and look for corrupt activities. How about the EPA? Sure, the Environmental Protection Agency would make a good candidate.

What will our team look like? I think we would want a number of accountants, along with a few forensic accountants. As they say: follow the money. We should also get a couple of people with perhaps doctorates in environmental science. Otherwise, how would we know when something is BS? Of course, we need some folks with investigative backgrounds and maybe even a couple of attorneys. This would allow us to review the various programs and ask intelligent questions.

What did the smartest man in the world do? He sent some high school and college students/dropouts. Besides all being white male (I think), the common thread seems to be experience with computers (a polite way to say some are hackers).

I believe if you want to do something illegal, this is exactly who you would want to send. These kids don’t know enough to know they are breaking the law. They will just do whatever they are told and not ask too many questions. Perfect. You’ll notice Musk has not gone on these visits. Plausible deniability when the inevitable happens.

Of the thousands of people they have fired, nobody has been turned over to law enforcement. Not one person… consider that for a moment. No waste, no fraud, no crime, nothing has been turned over for prosecution. The answer, of course, is that finding corruption was never the point. It was and is about saving money so we can have tax cuts for billionaires.

What the average American thinks of Musk is just another way of asking what that person thinks of Trump. It’s the exact same thing. If you like Trump, you’ll think Elon is doing exactly what needs to be done.

Full Disclosure:

I was a big Elon Musk fan when I first started following Tesla & SpaceX. I have no problem looking for waste, fraud, and abuse. In fact, that’s a great idea! Except they are not looking for anything at all: burn it all to the ground. Elon is awful.

What Russia thinks of Elon Musk

Our Rusuk Blog writer Sergey

Russia (mostly) likes Elon, thinking he is an innovative, brave businessman and visionary. Elon Musk seems contradictory; however, for most Russians, he just doesn’t have any negative record.

I know, for example, that recently, he has boosted far-right political movements in the UK and Germany. However, I do think that his extravaganza goes before him. Just yesterday, US Vice President JD Vance said: “Trust me, I say this with all humour. If American democracy can survive ten years of Greta Thunberg’s scolding, you guys can survive a few months of Elon Musk.”

And you know what? I agree. Greta is simply an uneducated, over-hyped teenager whose time is gone. Generally, we are now experiencing the end of the ultra-left making up the world agenda in social and ecological issues. The future will not miss Greta, as she has no science behind her weird views.

Trump & Musk

And look at Elon, just to compare.

He has Tesla, SpaceX, Starlink, Neuralink, The Boring Company, X (aka Twitter), Dogecoin, etc., etc. Before that, he was the founder of PayPal. He is a man of eXtraordinary talents. Last year, he made his choice and invested dozens of millions in Trump’s campaign, symbolizing a blend of old and new capitalism united to elect Trump to renew America – and, hopefully, the world.

Now, he is in charge of the DOGE in Trump’s administration. Whatever his critics say, the DOGE’s life is limited by a two-year term, using the SMART approach, in other words, with very clear and measurable aims to achieve. It is just another business challenge for Musk but at a new level. So if he fucks it up, the whole world will see. But I think he won’t. He will get it done.

He knows how to get things done in very advanced and competitive environments. His whole life is proof of it. You have to respect it.

To make a long story short, Russia thinks of Elon Musk well. And I am not an exception.

WHAT BRITAIN THINKS OF MUSK

Roger Bara

The Trump-appointed unofficial Vice President of the U.S.A. is another divisive character, like Trump; both have a 0 or 100 per cent rating, depending on your level of competence, intelligence and moral compass. I think he’s a little child made good. But that, of course, is not what this week’s blog is asking.

So, what do my merry countrymen feel about this misplaced pile of dog’s doo, this incompetent rich kid cartoon, this shyster of a man? Sorry, that’s putting an unnecessary bias against Musk. I should re-phrase. What do my merry countrymen feel about this misplaced pile of dog’s doo, this incompetent rich kid cartoon, this shyster of a man?

Luckily, Britain has had the results of a recent survey which helps to answer this question. More than half of our voters think Elon Musk is having a negative effect on British politics following his criticism of party leaders Keir Starmer and Nigel Farage, according to the latest Opinium poll for the Observer newspaper.

Musk has been using his social media platform Twitter, (sorry, I refuse to call it by its new name), to attack Starmer and the Labour government. What the hell has it got to do with him? In one post, Musk asked his 212 million followers whether America should “liberate” the UK from its “tyrannical government” under Starmer. Just last week, the Financial Timesreported that he had been discussing with allies, ways to remove Keir Starmer from Downing Street. What an utter arsehole.

So, when Opinium asked for views on Musk, it found that 53% of voters believed Musk was having a negative impact on British politics, compared to just 12% who thought he was having a positive one. Reform UK supporters were unimpressed by his claim that Farage should stand down as party leader, with 71% saying the Clacton MP was the best leader they could have now.

Britain is becoming a very divided group of islands, though nowhere near the scale of America’s gulf of opinion. But, the lack of enthusiasm about a foreign billionaire involving himself in British politics is one area of agreement among our public. Long may it continue.
